Learning only tools like Figma without understanding Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Human Factors Engineering (HFE) is not true UX. UX design goes far beyond creating visually appealing or "wow" interfaces; it’s about making interfaces that are functional, intuitive, and meet user needs. Focusing solely on UI tools and aesthetics misses the core of what UX is—it's not just about the visuals (UI); it’s about delivering a seamless, effective user experience that solves real problems.

Human Factors Engineering (HFE) serves as a vital foundation in UX and is directly linked to HCI, guiding designers to create interfaces that are both efficient and user-friendly. The four primary goals of HFE are:

1. Safety – Ensuring the interface minimizes risks and is safe for all users.

2. Efficiency – Creating interfaces that allow users to complete tasks swiftly and effortlessly.

3. Effectiveness – Building designs that help users achieve their intended goals without error or confusion.

4. User Satisfaction – Prioritizing user comfort and satisfaction to promote a positive overall experience.

HFE is inherently connected to HCI, as both fields study how humans interact with technology, aiming to improve usability, accessibility, and satisfaction. HCI forms the bridge to UX, as the principles and research from HCI provide insights into the ways people use digital products, thus enabling UX designers to create experiences that are practical, accessible, and truly user-centered.
